TO12H, Cake, Designs and More

Hello, hello again, let’s go. Things are moving along for TO12H | The Opposite 12th Hour episode 1 and ECD | Egg Chicken Dragon. All of scene 4’s background art for the exteriors for Lou’s house are complete. The foregrounds, midgrounds, and backgrounds have been reassembled into the final edit with final camera movements.

Moving on to scene 2 there’s a couple dozen shots that are in the process of final color and detailing. These backgrounds are all full of all sorts of items and I’ve been doing a lot of cross referencing to get everything close to being on model, it’s close. I’m looking forward to seeing it completed.

Next we have another project for another short and a pivot in direction and it’s for Urban Bigfoot. It’s around a minute long and it’s called “Lair of Cake” it’s a fun short and it should be ready soon. The quality to detail and the story are exactly where they need to be, and I’m very excited for this one.

Toys, Comics, and Quack Medicine

Let’s see what was. Toys, comics, and an excellent buffalo chicken wrap, that was the Zolocon 2023 Halloween Show in a nutshell. I should prefaced a nut allergy warning. But Zolocon is a cool collectible show with a lot of cool items, from a lot of great vendors.

Next we had a interesting show in a Medical Museum that was the Lancaster Heritage Medical Museum for an Arts and Craft show, a first time show put on at the Museum and it was a fine show, saw some wood, a section for quack medicine and a tooth key. Medical history had some crude roots and quack medicine and then to where it is today and the Museum has a lot of interesting history to see.

Now to where things are currently, I’m wrapping up the last several of the backgrounds for the TO12H project. I’m also working on a few more designs for the Ink spill line. There’s more in the works. Until next time. -bryan

Keeping It Moving!

Here we are again with another recap and update. I’m keeping it moving. There’s been another exciting few past events with Hell House Paracon and then to cap off the end of Septemeber we had a Block Party.

Hell House Paracon in Lehighton, Pa was an incredible experience. An iconic movie location seen in Hell House LLC., as well as haunted attraction known as the Waldorf Estate of Fear. This Paracon was a very intimate experience with a lot of growth potential and I look forward to seeing where it goes in the future and this was also where Chompsquatch made his first appearance in the wild.

Where Are We Going?

That’s a great question and one I’m still trying to figure out. Where are we going? It’s a simple answer and one that also has a lot of intricacies behind it.

I’ve taken the show on the road a few times now and the latest couple of events have been really exciting. I did a bigfoot convention in Elysburg, PA (Central PA Bigfoot and Cryptid Festival) that was really fun and the crowd of people coming and going throughout the day was huge. I debuted / launched an Urban Bigfoot shirt and pin. More to come on the Urban bigfoot animation in the near future.

There was also a last minute event, which was more or less a morning of decision to pack up and go and that was an anime convention (Natsukashii Con) and I had a lot of fun meeting people and other artists. I added a kiosk display to the setup to tweak the overall look of the 10×10 or whatever it ended up being, I had a lot space to fill.

I’m looking forward to getting out there some more and exhibiting what I’ve been working on and continue to work on. Keep an eye on social platforms @jabberstudios to stop by and say hello. -bryan

TO12H and Beyond

The Opposite 12th Hour | TO12H has been moving forward at a steady pace. I’ve been going through the edit and working on adding Foley and other SFX elements. I’ve also been adjusting pacing for the final edit on a few shots and locking in on camera positions for export to use in the final animation. All backgrounds are in the final coloring stage and it’s really exciting to watch playback and to see the progress that’s being made.

Beyond TO12H and sitting behind a desk, I’ve started to take the show on the road. A quick retrospective on the two conventions that have happened and that was Paracon and Lehigh Valley Comic Convention | LVCC. Paracon was a great experience and just being able to setup a table and exhibit and meeting people and having the opportunity to do something like that was incredible. Pennhurst State School and Hospital grounds is truly historic there’s history in those walls and throughout the campus.

A Continuum of New Things

Let’s first start off with the backgrounds for episode 001 of TO12H | The Opposite 12th Hour. All of the hand drawn pencil, ink, and paper drawings are completed for the first episode 001 ECD | Egg Chicken Dragon. I’m looking forward to getting into the next phase of piecing all the art together and getting everything colored and applying motion. As of right now the world is created and it is finally to starting to feel complete even without all of the final animation the vision is there and the creation process is bringing everything to life and it does that.

A convention of the odd and paranormal

Another really awesome bit of news is I’m taking the show on the road. Jabber Studio is headed to Spring City, Pa for Paracon 2023 on May 20-21. I’m looking forward to trying something new. To find out more about this event visit Pennhurst Asylum.

TO12H Piecing It Together

The production process continues and so do the backgrounds. First off, scene 4 has been completed which was a big step to wrap up the exterior shots of old man Lou’s house. All of those shots have been inked, scanned, and cleaned and I’ve begun dropping in the color palette and piecing it together. I had two additional shots from the same scene and for whatever reason one of the last shots kept giving me problems with the angles, everything I tried just wasn’t producing the look that I needed. Instead of fighting resistance on an angle I was stuck at, I decided to go with another technique and I decided to print out the 3D model and copy over the reference image and draw in the details, problem solved.

TO12H Background Art

TO12H background art is almost out of the weeds and that is awesome news. As of right now the current background count stands at fifteen pieces left for final pencil and or final ink for scenes two and four.

Scene 2 is a series of interior shots for Alterations Etc. and there are roughly twelve backgrounds that need to be finalized with cleaned pencil drawings and final inking. These shots are all highly detailed and are comprised of multiple layers of shop items and worn in objects to bring the setting to life.

Let’s Go!

Let’s go! It’s time again for another update to see how things are going with The Opposite 12th Hour | TO12H. The background process continues and I’ve been working on background art for scenes five and one.

Scene five is comprised of a series of exterior shots of Vincent’s house. All of the final timing has been mapped out, and camera moves and character placeholders have been added to the final edit.

A Swirling Vortex Portal

A Swirling Vortex Portal – The Opposite 12th Hour | TO12H

Another session of Creative Drive is ready for viewing. In this session watch as I work on creating elemental animation of the vortex portal, created (fbf) frame by frame for the first episode of The Opposite 12th Hour | TO12H. The box turn and box tilt were created and rigged and animated using bone dials. I thought the creation process definitely came out looking really good, have a watch if you’d like. Until next time. -bryan
