Revisit of the Uninvited

A revisit and progress of TO12H | The Opposite 12th Hour. I’m down to single digits finally on background completion. I spent most of January just working on the last pieces of the background art and I’m looking forward to making this happen. I tightened up the shot sequence for the edit and added character blocking.

I completed both Bright Balance and the Uninvited illustrations. Bright Balance depicts the idea of these massive bounce globes and plunger devices to engage in a chase sequence after a golden totem. I really like the concept and the overall color aesthetic and compoosition of this piece.

Then we have the Uninvited which is an illustration of a small ghost that is uninvited to closet monsters party and both parties aren’t invited to be hanging out in the room. There’s a bit of light play in this one with the reddish glow coming from the closet. Both pieces began as pen and paper drawings and then stitched back together in the system for cleanup and color.

Haunts, Cryptids and Comics

We’re going places, and the summer con season has been kicked into gear. A handful of shows and some new artwork have been released. In June I was at Stellarcon at the York Fairgrounds in York, PA which was really cool to just be there and being apart of that convention. Next I was in Gettysburg, PA for Gettysburg Battlefield Bash a paracon of sorts. I met some new people and some who would just tell you to “fuggedaboutit.” If you haven’t been to Gettysburg I would highly recommend taking a trip and a taking a step back into history.

Next stop was in Elysburg, PA for Central PA Bigfoot and Cryptid Festival. This festival was awesome and even more people than last year as well as more vendors, artists, and food trucks. I’m looking forward to Central PA Bigfoot and Cryptid Festival 3.

Go, go, going to the Cons!

Things are getting done and there’s some cool stuff to run through.

The last 2 live shows have been incredible. Lehigh valley Comic Con, that was an incredible first event to kick off the year at the Allentown Fairgrounds. The second was another favorite and that was Paracon at Pennhurst. That weekend was close to the largest attendance of people I’ve ever gotten meet and talk with even with a day of rain thrown in the mix. I really enjoyed meeting everyone.

I’ve taken a bit of a hiatus on getting TO12H | The Opposite 12th Hour to where it needs to be but, I will continue to work on getting that project and getting it completed. It’s just going to take some time.

Urban Bigfoot has been in work for roughly 8 weeks. All of the background art and voice over has been recorded and I’m working on finalizing the cleanup and editing and character rigging. Check out Instagram to take a look at that project. I’m excited to see that finally come to life.

I’ve been currently finishing up design work on the new “Frankenfury” design for the “Ink Spill.” More on that when it’s ready. Thanks for catching up, until next time. -bryan

TO12H, Cake, Designs and More

Hello, hello again, let’s go. Things are moving along for TO12H | The Opposite 12th Hour episode 1 and ECD | Egg Chicken Dragon. All of scene 4’s background art for the exteriors for Lou’s house are complete. The foregrounds, midgrounds, and backgrounds have been reassembled into the final edit with final camera movements.

Moving on to scene 2 there’s a couple dozen shots that are in the process of final color and detailing. These backgrounds are all full of all sorts of items and I’ve been doing a lot of cross referencing to get everything close to being on model, it’s close. I’m looking forward to seeing it completed.

Next we have another project for another short and a pivot in direction and it’s for Urban Bigfoot. It’s around a minute long and it’s called “Lair of Cake” it’s a fun short and it should be ready soon. The quality to detail and the story are exactly where they need to be, and I’m very excited for this one.

Toys, Comics, and Quack Medicine

Let’s see what was. Toys, comics, and an excellent buffalo chicken wrap, that was the Zolocon 2023 Halloween Show in a nutshell. I should prefaced a nut allergy warning. But Zolocon is a cool collectible show with a lot of cool items, from a lot of great vendors.

Next we had a interesting show in a Medical Museum that was the Lancaster Heritage Medical Museum for an Arts and Craft show, a first time show put on at the Museum and it was a fine show, saw some wood, a section for quack medicine and a tooth key. Medical history had some crude roots and quack medicine and then to where it is today and the Museum has a lot of interesting history to see.

Now to where things are currently, I’m wrapping up the last several of the backgrounds for the TO12H project. I’m also working on a few more designs for the Ink spill line. There’s more in the works. Until next time. -bryan
